Leadership and Governance

Operating in the public interest, AP+ is a member-owned organisation, with a diverse range of members including Australia’s domestic banks, international banks operating in Australia, some of the country’s largest merchants, payment service providers and payment processors, together with a range of challenger and disruptor brands focused on specific markets and products.

The Board of Australian Payments Plus has 13 Directors, composed of four independent Directors (including the Chair), four Directors representing each of the four major banks, two Directors representing other ADI shareholders and three Directors drawn from non-ADI shareholders.

The Board is supported by the Audit Committee, the Risk Committee, the Independent Commercial & Compliance Committee (ICCC), and the Talent & Reward Committee.

AP+ also has two advisory forums to ensure that the Board has a strong understanding of the needs and interests of key stakeholders; the End User Forum and the Payment Service Provider Forum.

The Executive Leadership Team is responsible for the day to day management of the Company to ensure that the overall purpose, strategy and values set by the Board is permeated throughout its business operations, its risk management practices and its people.

This roadmap highlights key industry and regulatory requirements along with other major AP+ activities. Work on initiatives that are under exploration will continue and may be brought onto future roadmaps. We expect to publish subsequent versions of the product roadmap annually.

Reflect-Reconciliation Action Plan

The AP+ vision to create an open, vibrant and sustainable payments ecosystem in Australia, that benefits all Australians, can’t succeed in isolation from ensuring that we have an equal and equitable Australia, that is unified and where First Australians are some of the key beneficiaries of the vision we deliver.

We believe that we have an important role in specifically addressing barriers to financial inclusion, but also using our influence and position within the financial and broader economic system to spearhead the key components of reconciliation as put forward in our Reflect RAP.

AP+ acknowledges the Gadigal People of the Eora nation as the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we are based and pays our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We recognise all Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander peoples ongoing connection to the lands and waters of Australia and thank them for protecting and for their pivotal role in the creation of this beautiful place. Always was and always will be Aboriginal Land.
